I remembered the other day seeing some photos in the only issue of Motoraver magazine that I've been able to get my hands on, they were of some very cool looking cars under the banner of Prototyp Hamburg. Whilst cruising around the wonders of the world wide web I came across another reference to it, so decided to dig a bit and see what was what.
It turns out that Prototyp Hamburg is a museum focussed on cars and car history, with a particular interest in Porsches and other German cars.
The museum itself is beautifully minimal, giving plenty of space to the exhibits so they can stand and be admired from all angles, unlike some other motor museums that try and squeeze as many things as close together as possible. As well as the very interesting vehicles on display there is also a great selection of car related art work, photos and posters to view too. It looks to be something to add to that list of "place to visit in Germany" alongside Wolfsberg and the Mercedes Museum.
There is a website in both German and English here : http://www.prototyp-hamburg.de/
I searched Flickr and found a selection of photos the two I have used here are from this persons stream : http://flickr.com/photos/yetivonhenne/
